11.03.2010 Zurich Airport Key Figures February 2010During February 2010 1’545’724 passengers were handled at Zurich Airport, a gain of 8.9% versus February 2009.
The year to date passenger volume rose by 7.7%. O&D or local passengers (originating or departing from Zurich) have risen by 8.5% to 983’900 compared to previous February (YTD +7.7%). Transfer passengers are up by 9.1% to 555’542 in February (YTD +7.4%). The transfer rate which was at 35.9% last February is currently at 36.0% (YTD 36.8%).
The current low cost market share is at 10.4% (YTD 9.6%), showing an increase in passenger figures of 14.6% (YTD +13.0%) versus previous year.
Air Traffic Movements (ATM’s) increased by 1.9% to 19’125 in February versus previous year (YTD +1.2%). The increase divides into a gain of +3.4% for airlines (YTD +1.8%) and a loss of -7.1% for general aviation and others (YTD -2.4%). The average Passenger per movement figure (airline passengers only) currently is at 92.9 (88.4 previous year) or 92.0 YTD (87.2 previous year). The average seat load factor saw an increase by 3.0 percentage points to 68.2% (YTD 67.1%).
