1 December 2011 is an important milestone in the history of Zurich Airport in both operational and commercial terms: The commissioning of the centralised security checks will coincide with the opening of two new Tax & Duty Free shops on both levels of the Airside Center...In an area covering over 1,000 square metres and directly after the security check, passengers will find a wide range of tax & duty-free articles such as spirits, tobacco products, perfumes, cosmetics and Swiss chocolate, one of the most frequently purchased souvenirs. The shops have a distinctive contemporary, innovative design and offer much more than conventional shopping pleasure: thanks to interactive handheld devices, passengers can learn a lot about best-selling items and new products, receive advice while making a purchase, and find the right product to suit their needs. The centralised security checks will leave passengers with more time to spend enjoying the wide range of restaurants and shops.
Two more tax-free gate shops are set to open on 1 December 2011 in the new Dock B. Passengers will thus be able to make tax & duty-free purchases until shortly before take-off.
Passengers arriving from abroad can make duty-free purchases on arrival at Zurich Airport and also reduce the time spent waiting for their luggage. The baggage hall has a new Duty Free Store selling a wide range of international brand-name perfumes, cosmetics, spirits and tobacco products at the usual low tax-free prices. Passengers thus benefit not only from the attractive products on offer but will also have an easier time going through the security checks abroad, as they no longer need to carry liquids with them.
