Flughafen Zürich AG is planning the largest construction project in Switzerland: at the foot of Butzenbüel hill, a closely networked community of service providers will be built on an area of 37'000 square metres.
The complex will be known as "The Circle", and with it Zurich Airport will develop from a transportation hub and commercial centre into a destination in its own right. Starting in 2017, national and international brands, corporate embassies and premium-segment service providers will present themselves to an international public in an area of around 200'000 square metres.
Zurich Airport (Flughafen Zürich AG) is proud to announce that an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corporation has signed management agreements for two hotels for “The Circle” at Zurich Airport. A Hyatt Regency hotel and a Hyatt Place hotel will be constructed within walking distance of the terminal. Together, the two hotels will offer a total of 550 rooms on a space of 45’000 square meters. The Hyatt Regency will also provide convention facilities for 1500 people and additional rooms for meetings and exposition spaces. Another important step towards the realization is the construction permit which Zurich Airport has been granted on March 6, 2012, by the City of Kloten. No appeal has been brought forward within the appeal period of 30 days, making the building permit legally binding.
