New summer timetable at Zurich Airport from 31 March 2019

25.03.2019 - The new summer timetable at Zurich Airport will take effect with the switch to summer time on Sunday, 31 March 2019. It will remain in force until Saturday, 26 October 2019. Tour operating hours and observation deck opening hours have also been updated for the upcoming season.

Building work along runway 10/28

20.03.2019 - In the next few weeks Zurich Airport will commence building work at various sites along runway 10/28. Some of these relate to the completion of the second fast taxiway, others to preparatory work for the refurbishment of runway 10/28 – which is scheduled for 2021.

15.03.2019 - Flughafen Zürich AG was awarded the operation of the airports of Vitória und Macaé in the southeast of Brazil by way of a public tender. The airports handled a total of approximately 3.2 million passengers in 2018.

Zurich Airport: Financial Year 2018

12.03.2019 - Flughafen Zürich AG has posted a robust result for 2018. In the reporting period, Flughafen Zürich AG’s revenue increased by CHF 11.2% to CHF 1.15 billion. The airport operator’s prof-it of CHF 237.8 million shows a decrease on the previous year. Whereas the prior-year figure was positively impacted in particular by the sale of the interest in Bangalore, additional pro-visions for sound insulation measures had a negative effect in the financial year 2018. After adjusting for one-off effects, profit rose by 13.3%.

Milestone on THE CIRCLE building site: the joint ownership company celebrates the topping-out

07.03.2019 - The joint ownership company of THE CIRCLE, comprising Flughafen Zürich AG and Swiss Life AG, celebrated the topping-out last Tuesday together with the contractor hrs. Building work on the new destination is progressing on schedule. THE CIRCLE will make Zurich Airport an urban centre.

Decommissioning of "VOR Trasadingen" navigation system

14.02.2019 - Over the coming months, the take-off and landing procedures at Zurich Airport are to be switched to modern satellite-based navigation methods. As a result, the conventional "VOR Trasadingen" navigation system will be gradually decommissioned until February 2020.

More than 31 million passengers for the first time

10.01.2019 - In 2018, 31.1 million passengers passed through Zurich Airport, corresponding to an increase of 5.8%. The number of flight movements was 3.0% higher than in 2017. Despite an increase in seat capacity and due to the use of larger aircraft, the seat load factor went up by 0.6 percentage points.

17.12.2018 - For the first time ever, more than 30 million passengers have passed through Zurich Airport in one year. Today a delegation from Flughafen Zürich AG welcomed the 30-millionth passenger of 2018 in person and presented him with a gift.
